What Items can be sold in the marketplace?
Any teaching and learning materials in any language.
Physical Products: For example, educational toys and games, science kits, musical toys, learning stations, classroom decorations, arts and crafts, stickers, magnets and cultural costumes...
Digital products: printable lesson plans, music, activities, flashcards, alphabet posters, homeschool curriculum, classroom management tools, calendars, wall art, google classroom materials...
What languages are offered?
Products in all languages and dialects can be sold in the Language Learning Market.
Who is responsible for customer service?
Store Owners: Responsible for customer service, they are independent business owners on the Language Learning Market. They set their own rules & policies and thus are responsible for customer care and service, returns, refunds, shipping, communication, and keeping their customer happy and coming back.
How do Buyers and Sellers communicate?
1. Customers can contact Store Owners about a product through the product's page or a Seller's storefront. Messages are then hosted for customers My Account --> Messages and in the Seller Admin Panel --> Dashboard --> Messages.
2. After an order is placed, buyers and sellers can communicate about a particular order through the customer's My Account --> Orders --> Communication and in the Seller Admin Panel --> Orders --> View Orders --> Order ID --> Communication Tab
3. When an order is completed, customers will receive order updates via email. Store Owners and customers can then communicate via email outside the LLM Platform.
How do Store Owners get paid?
Customers pay via credit card. Stripe is the payment processor. Stripe processes credit card sales and deposits the money directly into a Store owner's Stripe account. Store Owners must have a Stripe account connected to their Langauge Learning Market Store to sell in the marketplace.
Language Learning Market does not make payments to Store Owners and does not have access to their Stripe account or any financial information.
What are the Seller's commissions and fees?
Store Owners can choose a FREE plan and earn 70% commission on each sale or a Premium plan ($199 / year) and earn an 85% commission on each sale.
Stripe also charges a processing fee (starting at 2.9% + .30cents) for each transaction that varies based on the location of the buyer and seller and the currency used. LLM is not responsible for Stripe or bank fees.
What about international shipping?
Store Owners select the countries they are willing and able to ship to. Store Owners are responsible for understanding the customs, import/export taxes, and laws associated with international shipping. This of course will vary based on the seller and buyer's location.
How are shipping methods and rates determined?
Shipping costs are determined by weight. Rates are manually set by Store Owners based on their preferred shipping method and carrier. Shipping costs are automatically calculated based on the rates a Store Owner enters.
How are sales and VAT taxes handled?
Store Owners are responsible for collecting and paying sales and VAT taxes to the states and countries they are legally required by the tax authorities. This varies from state to state, and country to country. Sellers should check the laws of the state or country in which they operate and know the laws and regulations of the tax authorities.
Language Learning Market will calculate, collect, and remit TEXAS sales tax for orders shipped to customers in Texas, no matter the location of the seller. This is subject to change as LLM's tax obligations change.
How are returns and refunds processed?
Returns are Refunds are the responsibility of the Store Owner. It is important to set clear Store Policies and Product Return Policies.
If a Store Owners receives a request for a return, a refund or to cancel an order, they are responsible for processing those requests based on their stated Policies within 3-5 business days.
Store Owners process returns, refunds, and cancelations directly through Stripe to the customer. Store owners then submit evidence of a return/refund/cancelation to LLM. LLM will then refund any commission or taxes collected back to the Store Owner and update the order in the Admin panel to reflect the changes.
